Why is Network Marketing So Shunned by People?

Small Business
web_biz_man asked:

I am a business owner affiliated with a company called Quixtar. I’ve shown my business plan to many people and have made a pretty decent amount of money selling products from our website. Still I find a lot of people who don’t want to have anything to do with starting their own business and earning extra income.

It’s not that. The MLM model has had a history with bad experiences. In some ways, the resistance isn’t directed at you or your idea but to a prior negative experience.

Some of the models we great an had some bad people. Others had great people and a poor model. If it works for you, don’t worry about other people’s objections.

Because most people who try it fail. Because many successful network marketing companies employ deceptive or high-powered sales practices. Because there is a fundamental misalignment in incentives between the company and the associates (especially new ones).

The easy answer is MLM sales isn’t sales per say it’s about recruiting other people to do MLM. You need to find people that know this and you will do a lot better.
